What Is a Tooth Extraction and When Is It Needed?

A tooth extraction is the removal of a tooth from its socket in the jawbone. At Lawrence Dental Centre, we only recommend extractions when there are no other options to save the tooth. Our goal is always to preserve your natural teeth whenever possible.

You may need a tooth extraction if you have:

  • Severe tooth decay or deep infection

  • Impacted or problematic wisdom teeth

  • Advanced gum disease affecting tooth support

  • Teeth that are cracked or broken beyond repair

  • Orthodontic needs requiring space for alignment

Every procedure is performed with precision and care. We prioritize your comfort and provide clear aftercare instructions to support healing.

As a new patient, Dr. Gibbs and his staff warmly welcomed me and made me feel at home. They were very knowledgeable, professional, friendly and courteous, They showed genuine care for my dental health and wellbeing. As a senior on a fixed income without any dental benefits for 4 1/2 years, until I enrolled in the Canadian Dental Care Plan, I wasn't sure what level of service I would receive. I was pleasantly surprised with how well I was taken care of by Dr. Gibbs and his staff. Dr. Gibbs worked with the skill and long experience of a top tier dentist/dental surgeon to exact a number of broken teeth and replace 7 fillings. He did an amazing job. Now my teeth and gums feel so much healthier because of his great efforts and dedication in improving my dental health. He is without a doubt the best dentist I have experienced in my lifetime and I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending his services to others looking for an excellent dentist. Des Eldon

It was the first time for me to visit. I was little bit anxious of the first treatment of a tooth filling. They checked my X-Ray and Dr. Daniel said there was a risk that my cavity was very close to the nerve of my tooth, which might have resulted in a root canal operation. Overall, Dr. Daniel professionally managed the progress and then restored my tooth without any problem. He saved my tooth. Their hospitality is very nice. They kept talking to me during the operation to give me peace of mind for each time. I definitely recommend Dr. Daniel.

Couldn't be more grateful for Dr.Gibbs, Tammy & the team at the office. After a 6+ year absence from the dentist, I was treated so well and every little bit of detail was explained to me. I left knowing exactly what was going on inside my mouth and they helped to ensure that I could take proper care of my teeth going forward to avoid any future decay of my gums and continue to protect them in the best way possible. Dr.Gibbs runs a business that truly takes what is in your best interest first. They do operate in an old fashioned method with pen & paper, but don't let that fool you. Thanks again everyone ! Cheers !
